Boy Scouts of America
Faribault's chapters of the Boy Scouts which promote activities and skills in young boys: Troops 304, 306, 309, and 310.
Falcons for Change
In this club, students provide service for those who need it in the school, community, and the world. Locations include local churches, nursing homes, animal shelters, the FMS Book Sale, and the Jefferson Elementary Walk-a -Thon.
Faribault Youth On Boards
Youth on Boards places high school students on city, community, and non-profit Boards and Commissions in an effort to increase youth voice at decision-making tables.
Girls Scouts of River Valleys
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Troop meetings vary. Girls perform community service, engage in fun activities, learn new skills and meet new friends. Not to mention the vests and badges! Families need to register their young ones online in order to be placed with a troop in the Faribault area.
Maple Syrup Fun Run and Pancake Brunch
Every year River Bend partners with Shattuck St. Mary's to bring people out to run up to 50k (with various distances) timed by a jumbo clock. There is a community pancake brunch afterwards.
Rice County History Camp
Education and outreach is the best way to share the rich history of Rice County and we do that through History Camp (offered annually in June), one-room school and log cabin experiences for youth, school tours, public programs and workshops, among other activities and Hands-On fun. Students get a chance to step back in time to Rice County to when we became a state and learn about the fur trade, pioneer life, games, crafts, and even light cooking of recipes from another time.Scholarships are available.
RISE (Realizing Individual Student Excellence)
RISE is committed to serving Faribault’s students and working with the wider community to ensure that a bright future is open to all. Through academic advising, social-emotional support and family outreach, RISE works to keep 9th - 12th grade high school students on track for graduation.
Ruth’s House Volunteering
Ruth's House is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women and children escape abusive home situations. Volunteers can help in a variety of ways, like childcare, reception, handywork, contractors, committee members, student internships, transportation, and graphic design/IT support.
STOPS (Students Together Offering Peer Support)
STOPS is a volunteer student organization that engages high school aged youth in service work at sites like Ruth's House, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Croix Hospice and Infants Remembered in Silence. This program promotes civic engagement, leadership and volunteerism among students.
